![]() ![]() Plus, if you want to complete the chapter quests, you basically have to take your only full/near full army and head to Africa while the war declarations and client state actions starts popping off on the opposite ends of your empire. You start out with all your provinces lacking upgrades, with almost all of them heading straight for rebellion, and you lack the funds to upgrade or afford a full professional army. For those interested in the IA campaign, Antonius on VH with sub mods Alt Econ/DAIA/CT/41 units, I have found to be very difficult for a large faction. Most of the ones I can think of have already been listed so I'll make a case for an IA faction. ![]() Syracuse for Hellenic, you are in between Carthage and Rome and neither like you. Once you expand though, things cool down. Macedon for Hellenic is another snowball faction no one likes you, and your armies (while strong) are expensive money and pop. Pontus for Hellenic, they used to start with two settlements and weren't so bad, now with only one in the middle of chaotic Turkey, they are a pretty hard start.Ī lot of the single territory Celtic factions can be fairly hard, their starting troops don't match well against Phalanx armies and their economies don't grow as fast as "developed" factions, so money and population can be tight. Kartli for Eastern, unit selection is not very good and you start with the mighty Armenian Empire eyeing you from the South, go too far North and you will have to contend with the aggressive Arch Bosporus kingdom. The start is pretty brutal, very light troops, single minor starting settlement, strapies of Selucids nearby that will swarm you with stacks once you poke them. Parthia for Eastern, they are more of a snowball faction though, the ball is very hard to get rolling, but once you do it can snowball. Pergamon is a pretty hard Hellenic faction, bad starting PO due to your crazy King, bad Farmland so low food, and several tough enemies nearby (Egypt, Selucid and their strapies, Galatia, Thracians) plus the Diplomacy is a little fudged and everyone around you will declare war on you if you don't throw gold at them quickly. What faction do you consider the most hard and challenging one? And at what difficulty settings?Although the mod is made for N/N, I usually play H/N, above that can start giving the AI stupid bonuses. ![]()
